Realtors staying visible in the AI era

AI Search Is Changing How Clients Find Realtors

September 29, 2026•3 min read

The way people search for a Realtor is changing.

In my conversation with Las Vegas Realtor Natalie Kelley on my Real Estate Riches Podcast, we talked about something I believe more agents need to be paying attention to: being found through AI search.

For years, we focused heavily on Google, websites, social media, and traditional SEO. Those still matter, but now potential clients can ask AI a very specific question about the type of Realtor they want to work with.

That changes how we need to think about our online presence.

Your Clients Can Ask AI for Exactly Who They Need

A consumer no longer has to search something broad like “Realtor in Las Vegas.”

They can ask for an experienced luxury Realtor in a particular market, with certain specialties, credentials, reviews, or expertise.

Natalie shared that this idea changed the way she looked at her own marketing. She realized she needed to make sure AI could understand who she is, what she does, and why a client might choose her.

That is something every Realtor should be thinking about.

SEO Is No Longer the Whole Conversation

I have been learning more about AEO, or Answer Engine Optimization.

The idea is simple: your online content should make it easier for AI-powered search tools to understand your expertise and find relevant answers about you.

That includes information on your website, Google Business presence, professional bio, blogs, and other places where your expertise appears online.

Instead of only asking, “Can people find me on Google?” we also need to start asking:

Can AI understand what makes me the right Realtor for a specific client?

Your Expertise Still Matters

AI does not replace the experience and local knowledge you bring to the table.

During our conversation, we also talked about the importance of giving AI reliable information and checking its answers. I use AI regularly in my own business, but I don't assume everything it gives me is automatically correct.

The opportunity is to use AI to make the expertise you already have easier for people to discover.

Start with the basics. Look at how you describe yourself online. Make your market, specialties, experience, and the clients you serve clear.

The goal isn't simply to show up everywhere.

It's to make it easier for the right people to find you.
